Each year the Midwest Symposium for Leadership in Behavior Disorders distributes three awards to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field and one program development award.

The MSLBD Awards Committee is chaired by Tom Thompson, who led the awards ceremony on February 23, 2006.

The Outstanding Leadership Award recognizes outstanding service and leadership to the field of behavioral disorders on a national level

 

Gary Sasso, University of Iowa, is the 2006 recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award.

The Outstanding Educator Award recognizes outstanding achievement and excellence in classroom service to students with behavior disorders.

Debra Lyons, St. Joseph, Missouri is the 2006 recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award.

 

The Outstanding Advocacy Award - For outstanding advocacy on behalf of students with behavior disorders and Building Bridges: Seeds for Program Development Award - To support activities and programs to improve educational programs for students with behavioral disorders were not awarded in 2006.
