The
Outstanding Educator Award recognizes outstanding
achievement and excellence in classroom service to students
with behavior disorders. Deborah Edwards, USD 372, Silver
Lake, Kansas, was the 2008 recipient of the Outstanding
Educator Award. Ms. Deborah was presented with a plaque
that read -
In
recognition of her creativity, leadership, commitment,
volunteer efforts, and passion for children with emotional
and behavioral disabilities.

The
Outstanding Leadership Award recognizes outstanding
service and leadership to the field of behavioral disorders
on a national level. Reece Peterson, University of Nebraska
- Lincoln, was the 2008 recipient of the Outstanding Leadership
Award. Dr. Peterson's plaque included -
Reece
Peterson ... A catalyst in whose presence good things happen.

The
Outstanding Advocacy Award recognizes outstanding
advocacy on behalf of students with behavioral disorders.
Jane Rhys, Kansas Development Disabilities Council, Topeka,
Kansas, was the 2007 recipient of the Outstanding Advocacy
Award. Ms. Rhys was honored -
For
her exemplary leadership and dedicated, tireless service
on behalf of individuals with disabilities.

The
Building Bridges: Seeds for Program Development Grant
is given to support activities and programs to improve educational
programs for student with behavioral disorders. The 2008
Building Bridges Grant was presented to the Fort Atkinson
High School, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
