Kids' Stories

"To Tell the Truth"
Youth Perspectives on Their Diagnoses, Treatment and Education

Sharing stories from our own personal experiences, especially stories of pain or struggle, or stories reflecting our strengths and imperfections, can radically change how we see one another. This is your chance to hear the stories of youth with emotional or behavioral disorders.

The Midwest Symposium for Leadership in Behavioral Disorders is hoping to obtain written statements from a variety of youth in EBD programs or who have had mental health issues, and in particular obtain their perspective on their education and treatment. We would like these youth to tell their own story from their own perspective, and any provide recommendations they may have for the helpers in their lives or for better helping other kids. We will be sharing those stories here… more will be added regularly. We hope you find these stories enlightening, inspirational and challenging!

Youth Stories:

Brandon   Christopher Christopher

Additional stories are welcomed! If you or someone you know or work with would like to add your story- click here.
