Volunteers and Staff
Except for a part time staff member, Kirsten McBride,
hired in about 1990, all participation in the planning committee,
and all of the work related planning and operating the conference
and other MSLBD activities has been strictly voluntary and unpaid
throughout its history. Planning committee members and some
volunteers have received complimentary conference registration,
but no other benefits from participation.
Volunteers
are often needed during the Symposium in February. Tasks include
hosting and monitoring sessions, distributing and gathering
evaluations, checking on audiovisual equipment, handing out
registration packets and other tasks. Volunteers must provide
at least one half day of volunteer service during the symposium
(Thursday AM or PM, Friday AM or PM, or Saturday AM) and may
be assigned to needed tasks. If you would be interested in volunteering
in this capacity please contact us at information@mdlbd.org.
Indicate that you are interested in being a volunteer clearly
in the subject section of your message.
